News Report: Ojukwu's Political Party To Support Nigerian President In 2011 Election

The All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), led by former Biafran leader, rtd. Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu may support the Nigerian President's re-election bid in the 2011 election, chidi opara reports have been informed by well placed contacts in APGA.

Although the national Chairman of APGA, Mr. Victor Umeh at the party's just concluded National Executive Council(NEC) meeting had hinted that the party would be open to any group that wish to discuss cooperation in the 2011 presidential election with it, party insiders who spoke to chidi opara reports' network members at the meeting were unanimous in their assertions that the party would soon commence formal discussion with the Goodluck Jonathan camp in the Peoples' Democratic Party(PDP).

"I can tell you that APGA is not planning to field a candidate in the 2011 presidential election", a NEC delegate told chidi opara reports

We gathered also that an informal discussion have already taken place between a south-east senator who recently returned to PDP and the APGA national leader. The senator was an emissary of a south-east governor, who also recently returned to PDP. The south-east governor is reported to be working for the President.

The APGA national leader was reported to have assured the senator of his party's support for the President's re-election bid on certain conditions which chidi opara reports is not yet privy to.

"Except the party's leader changes his mind, we have APGA in our kit", a Goodluck Jonathan stategist who attended the APGA meeting "as a friend of the party" boasted to a network member.
