President Jonathan |
Dear Mr President,
Congratulations on your election to the highest office in the land. It is an honor very well deserved.
Forwarded herewith Mr. President, is the resolution from all the members of the Governing Council of the University of Benin in September 2009, to your predecessor through Dr. Sam Egwu, the then Minister of Education, demanding the removal of Prof. M. Jibo, as Pro-chancellor and Chairman for serious acts of misconduct. He was accordingly removed. Click Here To View Resolution
There are very strong rumors that this man is high in your ministerial list and may even be assigned to the Ministry of Education:- the Nation newspaper of 20th May 2011.The allegations against Prof. Jibo are so grievous and mark him out as a most unruly, dishonest and fraudulent person, whose character will seriously dent the image and integrity of your administration if selected.
I love you too much Mr. President and would not want you or your administration to be embarrassed. I am also well informed of his nefarious conduct in his past stations, such as New Nigerian newspapers, University of Jos, Benue State University, but to name a few. I also know that he has in the past been involved in political thuggery.
For and behalf of the staff of the Federal Ministry of Education, and the Federal Civil Service, and for the greater good of Nigeria, please take a closer look at this character.
Thank you.
Ada Okpala or whoever you are, I am sure you are poorly informed about the person you wrote about.
ReplyDeleteProf. Mvendaga Jibo is presently the Chairman Governing Council and Pro-Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike and an elder statesman in Benue state. So, the case of Prof being removed as Pro-Chancellor those not arise, He was only transferred.
At the time he was transferred from Uniben to Umudike, some of his counterparts in University of Port-Harcourt (Gabriel Toby), Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (Dan Shere) and Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike(Abba Moro); were all transferred. Will you say that was due to their stained records?
He is also a serving Professor of Political Science and a senate member, in Benue State University, Makurdi. The University holds him in high esteem.
Your paragraph two sounds more of envy. Prof Mvendaga Jibo is a man of high integrity and has much respect for cooperate governance, which he exhibits any where he goes. He also has one of the best records in University of Jos, were he was appointed Head, Department of Political Science and earned his professorship.
In Benue State where he contested for governor in 2007, under the platform of PDP, he is highly respected for his integrity and was thus; nick named “Mr. Integrity”. This is why the state chapter of the PDP sent his name as a ministerial nominee.
In conclusion, if Mr. President wants technocrats as he said, Professor Mvendaga Jibo, is the right person for Education Ministry!
