Suspected Boko Haram operatives yesterday
bombed a military patrol vehicle in the Gwange area of Maiduguri, capital city
of Borno State.The bomb, chidi opara reports
learned was planted by the roadside and went off as soon as the patrol vehicle
reached the spot, fueling speculation that the bomb was remotely detonated.
We also learned that as soon as the
bomb exploded, gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram fighters opened fire on
military the patrol vehicle. chidi opara reports could not ascertain so far if
lives were lost, eye witnesses however revealed that the patrol vehicle was
slightly damaged.
The attackers successful evaded
arrest, although a security Condon was noticed around the University of
Maiduguri specialist hospital and its environs.
Boko Haram rejected negotiations
with and a proposal for amnesty.
The group’s spokesperson on 27th
September, 2011 said that Boko Haram would continue with what it called jihad.
