Citizen Report: Details Of Failed Election Rigging Plots In Nigeria's Imo State

Ohakim: Imo State Governor

Reported By Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha

Ikedi Ohakim through the cooperation of INEC staff in the state diverted election materials to private homes and Hotels. He equally provided fake police uniforms for our hungry youths to act as agents of destabilization. But unluckily for Ohakim, the eagle eyes of the opposition groups in the state thwarted this move hence many of the fake police men were arrested at Okigwe, Anara and Mbaise towns of the State.

The diverted election materials were discovered in Private homes, Palaces of Traditional rulers and Hotels. For instance, the PDP Senatorial candidate for Owerri Zone Dr. (Mrs) Kema Chikwe was beaten up by angry youths in Owerri North L.G.A. for diverting election materials meant for that local government.

The Traditional Prime Minister of Ohaji, High Chief Charles Orie was beaten to a pulp by angry youths for diverting election materials to his mansion.

Also the police stormed and arrested youths found with election materials at The Ranch Hotel in Prefab-Aladinma Housing Estate Owerri and owned by a PDP House of Assembly member for Owerri Municipal State Constituency.

The LGA Chairman of Aboh Mbaise Nze Charles Onwunali was mercilessly beaten up by angry youths at the council headquarters for seizing election materials.

The Special Assistant to Ikedi Ohakim on Political matters Barrister Rex Anunobi used his house at Nkwerre Local Government area as the thumb printing centre for the botched National Assembly election. When this fraud was discovered, Nkwerre Youths stormed his house in anger but Rex Anunobi escaped being lynched by the angry youths.

The same thing happened in Mbaitoli LGA, the Special Assistant on Contact and Mobilization Mr. Sylvester Amah was thoroughly beaten up by Mbaitoli Youths. Mr. Sylvester Amah diverted electoral materials for Mbaitoli LGA to the palace of his uncle who is the traditional ruler of Amaukwu in Mbaitoli. His name is HRH Eze (Dr) Mike Amah (The Eze Ukwu of Amaukwu). Red Cap Police men were invited by the youths and the traditional ruler was arrested but not after he was beaten to a pulp by the angry youths.
