U-Report: CD Calls For Outright Cancellation Of Polls In 8 Anambra Council Areas

The Campaign for Democracy (CD) has called for the outright cancellation of polls in eight council areas in Anambra state due to irregularities and below standard performance of INEC.

The council areas includes; Idemili North, Idemili South, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Anambra East, Anambra West, Awka North and Awka South.

The CD statement was issued to news reporters in Onitsha, Anambra State and signed by the South-East Chairman of the group, Dede Uzor A. Uzor.

``We are calling for the outright cancellation of the charade called election where electoral materials were not provided and voting hampered due to timing and logistic challenges,’’ the statement said.

The statement said further that developments in the last Anambra state governorship election indicated that the present INEC cannot be trusted to conduct a free and fair election come 2015.
