U-Report: Group Passes Vote Of Confidence On State Assembly Member

A social-political group in Nkwerre Local Government area of Imo State. Known as Concerned Citizens of Nkwerre have passed a vote of Implicit Confidence on the member representing the Local Government in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Barrister Prince Obinna Okwara.

The group in a solidarity visit to Hon. Okwara Commended him on the people oriented bills and motions he has so far sponsored and co-sponsored at the Assembly. According to the leader of the group, Chief Zereuwa Osuala, “We have watched with keen interest your wonderful performances both in the House of Assembly and at Nkwerre Local Government. You have attracted both democratic and economic dividends to Nkwerre. You have empowered many of our youths, who are today involved in one form of genuine economic activity or the other. You take care of our elderly parents and your oversight functions towards the socio-economic development of our land in unprecedented”

The group  represented by forty one (41) Ward Commanders and Coordinators from different political parties in the Local Government thereafter presented a letter to Hon. Okwara urging him to seek another tenure in 2015 to enable him complete his people oriented projects in the local government.

Responding, Hon. Okwara thanked the delegation of Concerned Citizens of Nkwerre for the visit but promised to reflect on their urge for him to run for a second tenure. Barrister Obinna Okwara told them that he is more concerned on how to bring political maturity and accommodation in the land, insisting that Nkwerre has come of age politically, economically, socially and culturally.
