News Report: Cardinals Will Not Meet Till Next Week

Head of the Holy See Press Office, Rev. Father Federico Lombardi said this afternoon in a news briefing that the College Of Cardinals will not have their General Congregation till Monday, disclosing also that many Cardinals are still on their way to Rome.

The Holy See Press Office Chief said further that the Sistine Chapel has not been closed for the Conclave. The order to close the chapel, according to Fr. Lombardi will be given in the General Congregation.

The news briefing also disclosed that a group of religious sisters from Mexico has arrived the Vatican to pray for the peaceful and successful election of a new Pope. 

A special prayer session for the election of a new Pope is reportedly observed before each mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City.
