News Report: President Goodluck Jonathan Is Safe—Presidential Spokesperson




The Nigerian Presidential spokesperson, Dr. Reuben Abati has assured Nigerians that the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is safe following an attempted jailbreak by detained members of Boko Haram  at the State Security Service (SSS) headquarters near the Presidential Villa this morning in which about 18 detainees lost their lives.

In a short statement released this afternoon, Dr. Abati said that what happened at the SSS headquarters this morning has nothing to do with the Presidential Villa and that the President is safe. He concluded the statement by thanking Nigerians for their concern and support.
