The Speaker, Imo State House
of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has stated that the administration of
Governor Rochas Okorocha in the state has finally changed the face of governance
in the state, owing to his people Oriented developmental blue-print.
Hon. Uwajumogu, stated this at the Ihitte/Uboma Council
Headquarters, Isinweke, during an interactive session with the people of the
area, as part of the on-going tour of the 27 Local Government Areas of the
state by the Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to ascertain the impact of the
Government’s developmental agenda in the areas.
He described the Governor as a blessing and gift to the
people of the area in particular and Imo State in general, maintaining that the
Ihitte/Uboma area and the Okigwe Zone, has never had it so good since the
inception of the present democratic dispensation, and pointed out that the two
years and ten months of the Owelle administration has given people of the
state, a sense of belonging.
The Speaker described the aggressive infrastructural drive
of the present administration in Okigwe Senatorial Zone as unprecedented in the
history of the Zone and lamented that successive administrations in the State
brazenly relegated the zone to the back ground of development, but thanked the
Governor for rekindling the overall confidence of the people of the zone in
governance.
Hon. Uwajumogu, further enumerated the achievements of the
Rescue Mission led administration in the area to include; the free and
qualitative education, youths empowerment, the Ultra modern 100 beds General
Hospital, the completion of the 24.5 kilometres of roads in the areas, among
other things.
The Speaker also thanked the Governor for his love for the
people of the state and re-assured him of the people’s unflinching support to
enable his Vision and Mission in the state come true.
In his speech, the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha
described Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, as a determined young man who makes the
welfare of his people his utmost priority and urged him never to relent in his
resolve to take his people to the Promised Land.
He however, debunked the rumour making the rounds that the
people of Ihitte/Uboma, never voted for him during the 2011 elections,
promising that his government will continue to maintain it’s all inclusive
approach where everybody in the state is treated equally.
Governor Okorochas, promised that his administration will
initiate the speedy completion of the State College of Education situated in
the area in the next six months, acknowledging that the massive support of the
Ihitte/Uboma people would continue to spur him into embarking on more
people-oriented programmes.
