News Release: We Protest Campaign Of Calumny And Blackmail By AIT And NTA

Our attention has been drawn to the malicious and unprofessional reportage by the Africa Independent Television (AIT) and Nigeria Television Authority on its Network News, in which it tried to link the recent peaceful rally by the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria demanding justice over the Zaria Quds Day gruesome killings, to the MOSSAD/CIA covert terror cells- Boko Haram and ISIS.

Article: Nigeria, Politics, 2015 And Beyond

By Ogwazu Nnamdi

As political campaigns and declarations rent the air across Nigeria States with some blowing their horns in favour of preferred candidates while others mount the vehicles/motorcycles displaying skills to applaud of numerous on the open field that I pinched myself. This is purely in utter disbelief that there exists nothing new in the displays outside the considerations that the men who rode in 2011 may have only succeeded in showing the very old vehicle/Motorcycle used. The realization made me undertake an inner review of our Politicians and their saintly work during electioneering period.

News Release: Zaria Massacre, Six Months On, We Still Demand Justice

The 25th July, 2014 massacre of some members of the Islamic Movement was a tragedy that shocked not only the members of the Movement but every right thinking Nigerian and beyond shores. On that faithful day, soldiers on a mission to kill attacked a peaceful procession in Zaria to mark the International Quds Day which is observed annually by many people (Muslims, Christians, Jews and others) all over the world in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. That dastardly attack resulted in the murder of 34 people including 3 sons of the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, ShaikhIbraheem Zakzaky(H). Over a hundred others were severely injured. The insensitive killing of such creative and vibrant young men has exposed the cluelessness of the present administration.

News Release: Danjuma’s Call For Arrest & Prosecution Of Ex-Niger Delta Militants Callous & Selfishly Motivated

A call by Mr. Theo Danjuma for the arrest and prosecution of the ex-Niger Delta Militants over their threats of resumption of oil war should President Goodluck Jonathan continues to be attacked and stoned in the core North in his campaign rallies as well as if he is rigged out in the February 14 Presidential Poll; is baseless and condemnable. It is also jittery and selfishly motivated.

Article: 2015 General Election To Make Or Mar Nigeria

By S. Okey Mbonu

As a member of the Nigerian-American community, a community that provides upwards of $21 Billion Dollars in material support to the Nigerian nation annually; I have carefully observed the cacophony of Nigeria’s presidential electioneering of 2015, in Sub-Saharan Africa’s most populous and influential nation, and largest economy.  I find the signs troubling, per Nigeria’s ability to join the ranks of the most influential, and important countries in the world post-2015.

News Release: INEC Should Postpone 2015 Election To Avoid Credibility Issues

The National Democratic vanguard wishes to join the call by some prominent Nigerians and civil society groups for a postponement of the General elections scheduled to commence on February 14th 2015. There is no doubt that it is exclusively within the  constitutional powers of INEC to fix dates for elections, we are not unaware that the same law gave the window opportunity for elections to be conducted not earlier than 150 day or later than 30days to the expiration of tenure of current administration.

We have seen an alliance of very strange bedfellows including sons of the Niger Delta and people who have been strong beneficiaries of the agitation of the Niger Delta. We have seen the resources of Rivers State deployed to undermine a Presidency led by Dr Jonathan, a son of the Niger Delta. We have also seen the corrupt earnings of a former Governor of Bayelsa State being used to oil the violent political machinery of General Muhammadu Buhari. We have seen all that.

News Release: Disenfranchisement Of Over 35 Million Nigerian Registered Voters By INEC (Concluding Part)

Following wide circulation and readership that greeted the part one of this informative and educative publication, more reasons and facts abound as per our submission that over 35million registered Nigerian voters have been disenfranchised by Jega’s INEC; and that there is thickened desperation by powers that be at INEC to return the Presidency of the country to the North at all costs using technical and demographic electoral manipulation processes designed lopsidedly between the North and the South.

Fr. Mbaka

Any political system without dynamic opposition necessary for the essential competition, accountability, and checks and balances is tantamount to dictatorship and abuse of power. But that has been the case with the presidential politics of the Southeast (SE) zone of Nigeria since the recent democratic transition. The rationale is that a wholesale support for the national ruling party offers best hope, and any counter opinion is a naked sin.

[Being The Text Of A News Conference Jointly Addressed By Protest To Power Movement [P2pm] , Civil Society  Legislative Advocacy Centre[Cislac], And State Of The Union [Sotu] Project;  Friday 9th January 2015]

Why Human Rights Will Remain Endangered In Africa & Nigeria In 2015

December 2014 marked the 66th years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights commonly called “UDHR”. The 2014 slogan of the United Nations was Human Rights 365; meaning that every day is world human rights day. Despite this memorable event of December 2014, human rights will still face big challenges in Africa and Nigeria in 2015. This is chiefly due to prevalence of dictatorship and tyranny in Africa and expected turbulent general elections holding in Nigeria in February (2015).

Article: Governor Okorocha’s Lies On Radio

Governor Okorocha

By Kenneth Uwadi

I must applaud myself for successfully avoiding the Rochas Okorocha’s radio interview of 5/1/15. There are several wonderful TV programmes begging for my attention, so I considered it a waste of my time to listen to Okorocha’s talk on radio which judging from his past will be nothing more than unappetizing combo of cassava-market nonsense, careless hawking of plenty lies and further attempt at self-celebration. Whenever Okorocha is on air, he usually presents himself as one of the world’s most righteous human beings and competent leaders when we all know that Imo’s condition today under his watch is too dangerous for silence. We all know that Okorocha and his clique of thieves have turned Imo State into a bankrupt and lawless fiefdom .

Governor Willie Obaino of Anambra State

By Comrade Aloysius Attah

In 2003 as earlier stated in a part of this report, a self styled political godfather arose in Anambra state. With the active collaboration of his brother who was then a powerful force to reckon with in Aso Rock, they drew an organogram of rulership and partitioned Anambra as it suited their avaricious desires. They got a willing tool from Alor who wanted to be Senator then but was quickly drafted to be governor, a puppet and ceremonial one at that. To cement their agreement to avoid any form of reneging, they visited the dreaded Okija shrine at the dead of the night and administered an oath on the soon to be crowned puppet governor amidst recorded videos before finally drafting a resignation letter already signed without date which will be tendered with date any day the puppet governor tried to be mischievous.

Article: Bastardization Of Local Government System In Anambra State

Governor Obaino of Anambra State

Report By Comrade Aloysius Attah

One sore point in the Peter Obi led administration in Anambra State that led to altercation and collision with some civil society organizations in the state chiefly the JDPC, Onitsha Archdiocese and the CLO Anambra State Branch is the non democratization of the 3rd tier structure of government in the state. Though the past administration gave so many reasons why the local government election could not hold, we kept pressurizing the government on the issue until finally on January 11, 2014, the elections into the local councils were conducted.
