A coalition of Northern youths have lauded the Yoruba nation
for conferring the award of ‘Yoruba Man Of The Year’ on the general overseer of
The Synagogue Church of All Nations, Pastor TB Joshua, saying the award is a
recognition of his selfless and godly service not only to the Yorubas, but
Nigerians, Africans and the entire world.
A statement issued by the coordinator of the coalition,
Gambo Ibrahim today described Pastor TB Joshua as a true ‘Man of God ‘ who has,
against all odds, remained true to his calling.
The coalition said Pastor TB Joshua, unlike most clergy and
religious leaders, strives to unite the different tribes of the country through
his preaching and religious activities.
According to the coalition, the Synagogue leader is one
Nigerian devoid of religious sentiments, urging other religious leaders in the
country to emulate him by toeing the path of charity, peace and unity.
The award of ‘Yoruba Man Of The Year’ was conferred on
Pastor TB Joshua by the ‘Egbe Omo Oodua Parapo’, a coalition of 35 Pan-Yoruba
groups drawn from across the globe.
Pastor TB Joshua was chosen out of over 500 people nominated
for the award.
Conferring the award on him in the United States of America,
chairman of the award committee, Dr Akinwale Adewunmi said, “We give this award
to Pastor Joshua out of over 500 nominees screened by the planning committee of
the association for the honour and admiration he has brought to the Yoruba
nation, especially through his diverse philanthropic activities.”
