I am
immensely grateful to God Who Has preserved us to witness this day and this
occasion. Today marks a triumph for Nigeria and an occasion to celebrate her
freedom and cherish her democracy. Nigerians have shown their commitment to
democracy and are determined to entrench its culture. Our journey has not been
easy but thanks to the determination of our people and strong support from
friends abroad we have today a truly democratically elected government in
place.
U-Report: IHRC Writes Nigerian Government To End Persecution Of Islamic Movement

Since July 2014 there have been at least four incidents in
which Nigerian armed forces or people linked with them have attacked the
Islamic Movement. IHRC has written to the Nigerian High Commissioner in London
requesting that he urgently draw his government's attention to the targeting of
Nigeria's Islamic Movement in what seems to be a concerted campaign of
aggression against the group.

2015 Elections and
Campaign Promises
During the 2015 electioneering campaigns, the All
Progressives Congress (APC) pledged to “create 3 million new jobs a year
through public works programmes and shifting the economy towards value-added
production” as the primary economic targets of governments produced by the
party. The APC is today victorious having won the presidency and 22 states. No
doubt, the challenge facing the party is how it will deliver on all campaign
promises, which include the creation of 3 million jobs annually.
News Release: Afreximbank’s Abidjan Office Comes On Stream, Expected To Drive Integration
The
African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) today opened its Abidjan Branch
Office, with the Ivorian Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan saying that the
Branch Office would accentuate the Bank’s effort at achieving economic
integration in Africa.
