The
Directorate of State (DOS) of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), headed by Mazi Uchenna Asiegbu, is in possession of
an undated press statement purportedly written by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu through the
DOS-hired IPOB Attorney, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor. In the said undated press
statement, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is strangely referred to as a “Supreme Leader“
of IPOB, laid claim to Radio Biafra London (RBL) as the officially sanctioned
communication channel for IPOB. He also made indirect reference to Radio Biafra
International (RBi) as “a new renegade channel floated in
America.“
In the same
undated press statement, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu stated that the office of the
Coordinator of Coordinators (COC) has been abolished and that anyone claiming
to be such should be treated as a criminal. He further informed the public that
the “RBL Franchise“ has been extended to South Africa, Malaysia, and Germany
with another “Franchise station“ coming up in USA very soon. The statement from
the new-titled “Supreme Leader“ also included the setting-up of two
Administrative Headquarters operating simultaneously in London and Germany as
well as his sole appointment of Chika Edoziem and Uche Mefor as yet another
spokespersons on top of the already existing Mefor-appointed Dr. Ikenna Chinaka
(real name is Barrister Jideofor Johnmary) and
Mrs Iyom Grace Ukpai (real name is Favour Michael Chioma of
Family Love 109.3 FM located at 23 Aguiyi-Ironsi Layout, Umuahia). This
appointment by the “Supreme Leader“is also on top of the DOS-appointed Dr.
Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya and Barrister Emma Nmezu.
Finally,
“Supreme Leader“ Nnamdi Kanu warned the public not to deal with any other
person except Chika Edoziem and Uche Mefor while at the same time urging
Biafrans to observe a sit-at-home protest on May 30th, 2017 in remembrance
of ONLY those who died during the 1967-1970 Biafra
genocidal war.
The DOS wants to put the records
straight by stating that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is very correct in his assertion that
RBL is duly registered in the United Kingdom. RBL is a private company, limited
by shares under the company name “RBL Management Services Limited“ with company
registration number 8244993, having been registered on the 9th of October,
2012. It is also a fact, from the Office of The Registrar of Companies for
England and Wales, that RBL Management Services Limited is owned by only two
persons and these are (1) Mr. Nwannekaenyi Kenny Okwu-Kanu a.k.a.
Nnamdi Kanu and (2) Mr. Alphonsus Okafor-Mefor a.k.a. Uche Mefor. The records
show that the former is the Director of the company while the latter serves as
the Company Secretary. We have attached the certificate of incorporation, which
is a public document, to this press release but everyone is encouraged to check
and verify this information online, using any search engine of their choice.
We wish to
note that the DOS disagrees with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in his claim that RBL has
been chosen as the official and only communication channel for IPOB. We
challenge Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to provide any document that could be used in the
court of law where Biafrans collectively chose RBL as the only communication
channel for IPOB. Secondly, there is no Memorandum of Understanding signed
between the owners of RBL and the DOS or the generality of Biafrans which
support the claims of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The DOS, therefore, cautions Mazi Nnamdi
Kanu on this bogus claim and urge Biafrans to disregard his bogus claim because
it does not have any locus standi before the court of law.
On the issue
of RBi, a full house of the DOS which includes Nnamdi Kanu himself, met via
Skype platform on January 12, 2017 and approved the setting-up of the radio
station to broadcast live and to share broadcasting license with RBL but Uche
Mefor refused to share the license. Uche Mefor also refused to release funds
from IPOB‘s central purse in Germany for the purchase of broadcasting
equipment. Some DOS members volunteered their hard-earned money to purchase the
equipment as well as a new broadcasting license because Uche Mefor advised them
to do so. There are records of the Skype meeting as well as records of Uche Mefor’s
refusal to share license and his advice to purchase a new license. Hence, RBi
is not a “new renegade channel floated in America“ because the records of its
approval are there.
The DOS wishes to state that the
power to dissolve any position or office lies within it and such powers will be
exercised through collective decision-making and not by military fiat of a
single individual, no matter who or what that person thinks he or she is. In
the light of this, the DOS assures the public that the office of the COC is
still functioning and the occupant of that position is Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka
Iroanya and his Deputy is Mazi Ikenna Nwanonenyi. In the same vein, the IPOB
Embassy in Vitoria-Spain is still functional and anyone can call the phone
number +34 945565994 for all enquires. Furthermore, the DOS
restates that the spokespersons of IPOB remain Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya
and Barrister Emma Nmezu who do not go by any pseudo-name nor do they ask for
three million naira (N3million) to
serve their nation of Biafra unlike the Mefor-appointed spokespersons. The DOS
believes that the office of the Head of DOS is too hectic for him to also take
up the job of a spokesperson.
While we
agree with the sit-at-home protest as stated in Nnamdi Kanu’s press statement,
the DOS urges Biafrans to also remember and honour those who died since July of
2015 till date as a result of their show of solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu and the
Biafran cause. We should also not forget that May 30th, 1967 was the day the
nation of Biafra was formally declared, hence we should see it as a celebration
of our independence as well.
Finally, the
DOS cautions Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to be more circumspect and apply restraints in
his choice of words. We urge Biafrans to continue to support all efforts geared
toward the restoration of the nation of Biafra. We must coalesce and synergize
to achieve the sovereignty of our nation through the instrumentality of United
Nations-mandated and supervised Referendum.
Long live
the Indigenous People of Biafra and long live the nation of Biafra!!!
Dr. Clifford
Iroanya
IPOB
Spokesperson.
