Article: Why Government Should Reposition NMCN.

By Emeka Oraetoka

The effort of government in enthroning a functional and responsive health care system in Nigeria may not yield adequate result if the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) is not repositioned to carry out its mandate effectively. The strategic role being played by NMCN in Nigeria has made it imperative that the establishment be adequately funded. It is a trite fact that in a hospital system, doctors cannot function without nurses.

It is sad and shocking that what is called “Nigerian Army” today and its mother “security and defense” establishments are nothing but “resurrected Glover Hausas” of the 19th Century. Article: Igbo Governors Must Also Go

By SKC Ogbonnia

Nnamdi Kanu of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has been declared wanted for not showing up in court. That is normal. But if the truth is told, the main culprit for the Biafran crisis are the politicians—not Kanu. The authorities should be knocking at the doors of the seven Nigerian governors of Igbo extraction, namely: Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (Rivers); Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Rochas Okorocha (Imo); Willie Obiano (Anambra); and David Umahi (Ebonyi). These governors, one after the other, openly inflamed and fueled the Biafran crisis to a sadistic state. Given that Nigerian governors are immune from prosecution, it is incumbent upon the masses to send them packing.

Article: Tackling Corruption In Nigeria Through Whistle Blowing Tackling Corruption In Nigeria Through Whistle Blowing

By Chido Onumah

I crave your indulgence to preface this speech by reiterating what all of us already know: that corruption is the number one enemy of our country, and, therefore, the main reason Nigeria remains underdeveloped. It is generally agreed that corruption is the canker that is destroying the foundation of our society and that if no drastic measures are taken to deal with it, we would, very soon, have no country to speak of.

From the composition of the present Administration and its Political Party to its policies, actions and inactions since June 2015, the Administration sinks in corruption and infests everybody with same till date.

Article: Every Nigerian Life Matters: A Letter to President Buhari

President Buhari

By SKC Ogbonnia

Dear President Buhari

Let me begin by expressing gratitude to God that you are continuing to enjoy a good health after a prolonged stay in a London hospital. You have demonstrated the new lease of life by being able to give a national broadcast upon your return. You have also been well enough to attend Executive Council meetings, the United Nations Assembly and, of course, the Independence parade.  However, clearly missing from these occasions is any statement on quality healthcare for other Nigerians.

Article: APC; Their Party, Their Enemies

By abiodun  KOMOLAFE

Nigeria is out of recession! So, let all men of goodwill clink glasses in celebration of the valuable worth of a country that will neither wear out nor rust out!

Having said that, to say that all is well with party politics in Nigeria, especially, as 2019 draws nearer, depends on which side the observer is looking at. Like Siamese twins, things are scarily looking up for the ruling party and the opposition is closer to fire than it is to frying pan.  The   political lion and the economic bear are strategizing; even the wolves and the hyenas of our ethno-religious   belongingness are waiting in the wings, desperately hoping to devour whatever remains of the country called Nigeria. It is therefore time Nigeria’s David woke up to the responsibility of killing the uncircumcised Philistines before they kill Nigeria dead. In my considered opinion, such an important task must start from the State of Osun!

News Release: Senator Dino Melaye Recall; INEC Should Not Act As Interested Party

Amalgamated Network of Civil Society Organization in Nigeria (ANOSCOIN), has been following events since the recall process of Senator Dino Melaye, started. We hereby appeal to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to conduct itself as unbiased umpire in the recall matter. Senator Dino who represents Kogi west senatorial zone has been unwavering in accusing Kogi state government of being responsible for his recall. He is now claiming that the 90 days time frame for referendum on his recall as provided by the Constitution has elapsed and so not duty bound to accept the court ordered service from INEC. Much as ANOSCOIN is not an interested party in the recall fight, it is however, our duty to inform INEC that it should live up to its name, and Constitutional duty of being an impartial umpire. Many Nigerians are beginning to feel uncomfortable with the body language of INEC in the recall of Senator Dino Melaye.

Article,: Separating Facts From Fiction

By Edel-Quinn Agbaegbu

Nigerians and indeed members of the global community will soon witness a sustained battle in Nigeria on the matter brought by opponents of the scientific method of ensuring food security in the universe, through modern biotechnology (genetically modified organisms). Modernity and basic facts of science will confront seeming fiction and out-dated traditions in the epic battle. Opportunity exists now for the courts to filter falsehood and propaganda from incontrovertible fact, of realities and issues that are globally accepted and verified at the moment. The media also needs to do much, in terms of vigilance, given that from the onset, in the papers filed; a lot of distortions are discernible already.

News Release: As Nigeria Bleeds At 57: Buhari Government Must Return To Int’l Best Practices Of Governance

The present Federal Government of Nigeria headed by Retired Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari and Prof Yemi Osinbajo is steadily losing its slim chance of putting the Federation of Nigeria and its 175million People back on track in matters of civil and constitutional governance.  The Administration must also return the country to international best practices of governance and stop breeding local and international enmities or earning itself a regional and international pariah status. The Administration’s hard and atrocious stance on collective issues of governance has gravely put the country at crossroads and dangers of alarming proportions at local, regional and international scenes.
