Our checks have revealed that the Nigerian government had an advance information that the Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu would be in Ethiopia.
This prompted the Nigerian Minister of Justice and Attorney-general, Mr. Abubakar Malami to do a confidential memo to the Ethiopian government informing them that Kanu, a furgitive from the law would be in Ethiopia and requested the country to arrest and extradite him as soon as he steps into the country.
The Nigerian Justice Minister, we also learned, also informed the International Police Organization(Interpol) and also requested the organization to help in the Kanu extradition effort.
Kanu, surprisingly, was not aware of all these, sources close to him informed us.
On stepping into Ethiopia, we learned, Kanu was arrested by the Ethiopian security and handed over to the Interpol, who brought him back to Nigeria and handed him over to the Nigerian authorities.
